Zululand Remedial Centre

The Zululand Remedial Centre is situated in Empangeni. It caters for learners with specific learning difficulties who need moderate levels of support and are unable to achieve their potential in a mainstream classroom.

Children Learn Differently

• They experience difficulty in learning to read, write and spell.
• Their scholastic progress is not a true representation of their intellectual ability.
• They manifest attention deficit disorder with or without hyperactivity.
• They have poor listening skills and auditory and visual perceptual deficits.
• The learners can remain in ZRC up to Grade 7 whereupon they return to mainstream or Vocational schools.
