Speech-Language Therapy

Speech-language therapy supports children and with speech and language difficulties.

Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) help learners develop their communication skills and treat speech, language, swallowing, and voice disorders. Their services include prevention, identification, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation. Speech-language therapy supports both children and adults with speech and/or language difficulties.

A speech disorder involves difficulty producing sounds, while a language disorder refers to challenges in understanding or using words to communicate effectively.

Therapy should begin as early as possible. Children who start therapy before the age of three often show better outcomes than those who begin later.
